Al-Bāʿith
The Resurrector
Root ب ع ث (b-ʿ-th). Lane gives baʿth as ‘the removing of that which restrains one from free action’, hence baʿathahu, ‘he sent him’; it is also used of raising the dead. Baʿth in Qur'an 30:56 refers to resurrection. Mabʿūthūn means raised up, seen in Qur'an 17:49. Baʿatha means He sent, noted in Qur'an 62:2. While the Qur'an does not mention Al-Bāʿith as a name for Allah, the related verb appears in instances such as ‘Allah will resurrect (yabʿathu) those in the graves’ (22:7).
